Kids Holiday Cooking Classes
(2021 Oct-Dec Boot Camps)


Would you like your kids to learn some practical life skills and discover their hidden culinary talents during the upcoming school holidays in October, November and December? This 2-day Culinary Skills Boot Camp by Food Playground x Elle & Vire* is the perfect launchpad to help learners achieve the following:


Learning Outcomes

1. Understand food hygiene and food preparation basics

2. Learn to prepare and cook authentic recipes from scratch

3. Learn a variety of cooking and baking techniques

4. Learn how to incorporate healthier ingredients in recipes

5. Learn important life skills like empathy and kindness

This course will be conducted at our own fully equipped cooking studio in Chinatown. Each class will have an intimate learning environment with a ratio of 1 instructor to 4 learners. Upon completion, each student will receive an apron, certificate of achievement as well as lots of wonderful memories to bring home!

Junior Culinary Boot Camp
(Ideal for 7-10 years old)

Here's a brief program sequence of the Junior Culinary Boot Camp:

Day 1 (Half-Day)

9:30am: Welcome and introduction
9:45am: Food hygiene/preparation lecture
10:15am: Learn two recipes (click on preferred date below for details)
12:30pm: Lunch (Enjoy the fruits of your labour!)
1:00pm: Session ends

Day 2 (Half-Day)
9:30am: Food hygiene recap
10:00am: Learn two recipes (click on preferred date below for details)
12:00pm: Lunch (Enjoy the fruits of your labour!)
12:30pm: Debrief & Closing, Certificate presentation
1:00pm: Boot Camp ends


Ideal For: Students between 7 years old and 10 years old looking for hands-on enrichment activities during the Nov/Dec school holidays
Total Duration: 7 hours (Day 1->3.5 hours & Day 2->3.5 hours)
Rate: 260 SGD/pax NETT (10% discount for booking of 2 or more)

We only use Halal-certified ingredients and all our utensils have never handled pork since inception, so Muslim participants are most welcome to join. If your children have any other dietary restrictions or food allergies, please let us know at the time of booking so we can make the necessary adjustments.

We will be running a total of 4 sessions over the months of November and December, so this will give you more flexibility in planning your schedule for your kids.

UPDATE: In line with tightened safe management measures wef 27Sep, participants will be cooking in groups of 2 pax per workstation with no inter-mingling and each group will be kept 1m apart to ensure safe distancing. Also, participants will not be allowed to unmask throughout the entire activity. Please be assured that the necessary measures will be taken to ensure that all participants have a safe yet enjoyable experience.

Ideal For: Students between 11 years old and 15 years old looking for hands-on enrichment activities during the Nov/Dec school holidays
Total Duration: 14 hours (Day 1-> 7 hours & Day 2->7 hours)
Rate: 480 SGD/pax NETT (10% discount for booking of 2 or more)

"I enrolled Culinary Skills Boot Camp for Lower Secondary Students for my 2 girls.

Bootcamp is 9am to 5pm over 2 days during school holiday period, with no time for mobile usage, is not something teenagers look forward to.... BUT they had fun! and more importantly, they learned their way around the kitchen.

And the food! OMG, the food.. Pizza (from scratch), Pasta (from scratch), Roselle tea and Jam (did I mention from scratch?), tiramisu (you get the idea...), butter cakes (smells heavenly..), and cheese cake...

The instructors were amazing. Patient with the children, motherly, they have their hearts in the right places. Daniel is generous, not only did we bring back food to last a week, we were given (free!) ingredients to last at least 2 weeks!

All in all a good experience for kids, and highly recommended. Will definitely join the next Boot Camp if time permits.

"We signed up our girls for Junior Culinary Bootcamp in June 2021. Daniel and staff coordinated the group very well by implementing the proper safety protocol, providing the kids with proper equipment, introduction and practical sessions.
